Welcome to the site...

The folks over at WitnessToday.org graciously provided me this server space with the condition that I would spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is exactly what I plan to do.

But something is wrong. The Gospel that is being preached is not necessarily the true Gospel. There are many Gospels that are being preached. But only one is the truth. How do you know if the Christian Gospel that you are hearing is the real thing?

That is what I hope to proclaim.

The other burden I have is Divorce and Remarriage. While some churches hold to a "closed door" policy, others have an equally destructive "open door" policy. We need a balance of somewhere in between.

Still as of old
Men by themselves are priced -
For thirty pieces Judas sold

Though you be scholarly, beware
The bigotry of doubt.
Some people take a strange delight
In blowing candles out.

INSTRUCTED by Scripture, LED by the Spirit by Jonathan Lindvall
Scripture is sufficient for the instruction of our minds in God's ways, and how to apply God's ways to our lives. However, the Scripture by itself is insufficient to breathe Spiritual life into the soul of a man. One can think that if he discovers doctrinal truth, exclusively on an intellectual dimension, he has somehow found all that he needs. All too often we have a tendency to focus entirely upon the letter of the truth, and thus miss the Person Who is the Truth.

The Woman's Headcovering Defended by Shawn McGrath
Originally published as a series of blog entries entitled "The Woman's Headcovering Defended." I found this series to be especially helpful in answering some "tough" questions. Very concise. I like that.

Donations
Recently, I have been repeatedly asked about donations and offerings for the work that goes on around these parts. This isn't really the kind of website that needs donations. I get hosted for free, including a prepaid domain name. But my webhost could really use some monetary donations as well as your prayers. I have never raised or asked for support; feeling that if the Lord wants me there, He would provide, and He always has. I trust the well-known aphorism of J. Hudson Taylor: "God's work, done in God's way, will never lack God's supplies." God is so faithful to work things out and to provide when we need it. If, in prayer, you feel the Lord leads you to give, donate to my webhost and earmark it for: 5kwf.com.

Divorce and Remarriage by David Servant
This chapter of the book "The Disciple-Making Minister" provides an interesting perspective on the D/R issue. While I may not be in total agreement with some of the things stated in this chapter, it did provide a very thought-provoking slant thrown into the whole ordeal. Be prepared to rethink some of your closely-guarded presuppositions.

Scribes ... or Inscribed Upon? by Tomas Shank
There is the potential of a serious spiritual error if one concentrates solely upon the intellectual dimension of the faith, thereby thinking that in discovering doctrinal truth, he has somehow found all that he needs. One might call this scribalism- the tendency to focus entirely upon the letter of the truth, and thus miss the Person Who is the Truth.

Daily Manna from the 'Net for Thursday, December 31, 2009 [Mark 2:7-12]

Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. Mark 2:7-12 KJV
